BOWERBANK GALLERY, DELORAINE TASMANIA
Inspired by travels through the Australian outback, the series developed a design language that codified form as a narrative which implicitly relates to the experience of landscape.
On return from the desert journey I had the opportunity to work in a workshop space in rural Tasmania. Over the space of two months I reflected on my travels and expressed my observations through the shaping of Blackwood, Myrtle and Celery Top Pine timber.
Produced as handcrafted one-offs, the exhibition included oil pastel drawings, small assemblage sculptural works and a series of tables that blurred the distinction between art and design.
