In these early works I developed skills in the design and construction of furniture by refining my approach to material, structural and manufacturing issues. In each piece a synthesis of function and detail led to design solutions that paired down the formal expression to it’s essential elements.

Through this investigation a portfolio of timber furniture and object designs were developed which intertwined metaphorical sources, construction techniques and structural logic to create refined and elegant forms. This led to the development of a range of limited editions which were designed around manufacturing approaches and systems that allowed for flexible and repeatable approaches to production.
